Founded in 1989 by Roger Wade, BOXFRESH started as a line of customized prints on vintage stock t-shirts and sweats, sold on stalls at London's Greenwich and Camden markets. The brand's name was inspired by early hip hop terminology for a pair of trainers that were "fresh out the box". In 1991, it entered the Japanese streetwear market and by 1992, it had opened its first flagship store in London. Since then, BOXFRESH has established itself as a prominent streetwear brand in the United States, with collaborations with Berghaus and Global Underground, and commands a loyal following all over the globe.
