Istanbul Streetwear Fashion Label 'Les Benjamins' Is On The Rise

The relatively new brand threw an after-party demonstrating it can — and does — hang with the high and mighty.  Bunyamin Aydin started Les Benjamins in 2011, a label based on the principles of a real-life group of intellectual dissidents at the time of the Ottoman Empire called 'Les Jeunes Turcs.' It is, however, a more modern and Western representation of his unique vision that is being spotlighted for the masses, with a recent after-party at Paris Fashion Week eliciting a performance from American rapper Travi$ Scott and a guest list including the creme-de-la-creme of street wear: Supreme's Angelo Baque, Off-White's Virgil Abloh, and Fear of God's Jerry Lorenzo. Aydin's vision perfectly falls in step with those guys; he mixes high luxury with a base of streetwear, topped off with a splash of social commentary and creative dissent. The after-party was to launch his upcoming Spring/Summer 2016 collection; be sure to keep an eye out.   Words by Brian Bui
