John Elliott Presents Spring/Summer 2016

Posted on

LA- BASED DESIGNER, JOHN ELLIOT TAKES A VIETNAM, MILITARY/ATHLETIC INSPIRED INSPIRATION John Elliott the LA-based fashion designer, blew up on the scene a few years back for his zipper-infused sweatsuits and casual loungewear that is nowadays ubiquitous (he got recognized for his talent back in 2014 as one of the Best New Menswear Designer in America). For Spring/Summer 2016, he looked toward Vietnam for non-political inspiration and and shows off that he's not just a one-trick pony, though the distinctive athletic and sporty prose is still very relevant here. The ad campaign, shot by Patrick Maus, shows off a myriad of never-before explored colors (he's usually obsessed black, white, and greyscale) and features new stylistic details in terms of textiles and silhouettes that gives us a look of the range of his talent. It's militaristic-chic. You can read more about his inspiration for this collection here. -Brian Bui
